Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 global pandemic, Project Build - Peer Masterclass Series is a unique, online organization open to conservatory students and young professionals whose mission is to create, build, and strengthen musicianship through interconnected friendships. The masterclass program meets weekly on zoom for two hours at a time and provides members with additional performance practice as well as being able to have the opportunity to build off of one another in terms of exchanging musical and technical knowledge as well as teaching attributes.

Who is eligible to participate? Project Build is a program made for college/conservatory students and young professionals who seek additional performance practice as well as to connect with and learn from musicians across the globe; it is a unique masterclass series open to classical musicians of all disciplines.

When does Project Build meet? What do meetings consist of? Project Build meets weekly online on zoom. Meetings generally run for two hours and consist of live performances, feedback sessions, as well as in depth discussion sessions pertaining to performance based topics.

How much does it cost to participate? Nothing. Project Build is a 100% tuition free program.

If I were to become a member of Project Build, would I have to perform every week? No, you do not have to perform every week. Live performances within Project Build are solely volunteer based, although performing is strongly encouraged and recommended.

If I were to become a member of Project Build, would I have to commit myself to attending every weekly meeting? No, you do not have to come to every weekly meeting, however, regular attendance is encouraged.

If I haven't signed up to perform, can I still attend the meeting? Absolutely. Anyone who is a member of Project Build is automatically invited to attend each meeting.

What else should I know about Project Build? Although the program is primarily peer based, Project Build has had visiting guests from the Cleveland Orchestra, MET Opera, as well as the LA Phil.
